Hello, friends and viewers of my brand new blog. Today I would like to begin a new segment in which I plan on talking about different videos from the past. I’ve been on YouTube for over two years now and have many videos– it’s probably overwhelming for someone new to view my YouTube page and decide which videos they want to watch.
Thus, this ‘Video Nostalgia’ segment will allow me to tell you all which videos I recommend, and I’ll give a little bit of insight on what went through my head when I made them back in the day.
Also, this is a question for you all… Would you prefer if I put these reviews under their own “Videos” tab, or should I keep them here in the main blog? What makes it easier for you?

Today’s video is one of my personal favorites, “Pretty Intense New York Vacation”.
I uploaded this video back in July, 2007 while I was visiting my family in New York over Summer vacation. It never got many hits, nor was really popular… But it’s still one of my favorites, and probably the one I show to my friends the most often. Not only that, it was also my earliest endeavor at video editing– it used to take me ages to paste clips together.
I suppose the reason I favor this clip so much is the fact that one of my younger sisters helped me to film it, and we had a lot of fun goofing off as our parents rolled their eyes at us. Also, this video showcases a small part of my father’s impressive guitar collection, which is also fun to see on film.
The song I used for this clip is actually by one of my favorite Japanese artists, Takagi Masakatsu. The name of the piece is girls. Lots of people thought it was the song from the Wii console menu, but it is not!
Anyway, my old videos were odd. I mean, my current ones are perhaps even more odd in their own sense, but I don’t really use my fake voice as much anymore and perhaps act a little less crazy. Just a little, mind you.
Oh, back when I was 17. Feels like eons ago!

I wish i could have meet you in person you seem really nice, maybe a bit to outgoing tho since i rarely travel at all. Greetings from Michigan ok now u know where i reside LOL
Nice compilation indeed. The framing is exquisite.
I like this “video nostalgia” segment. This is gonna be great.
My favorite video is Pikatchu Bread in English. There was cutting edge editing there. I thought someone pro did it for you. If you make them yourself, you’re very talented.
Did you consider making a fun documentary on Tokyo, in bitesized clips? That would b so cool.
Huh.
heya! XD
I like the idea Froggy74 was saying, how about a mini-emily-esque tour of Tokyo or y’know japan. or i don’t know… a japanese adventure.
orrr you could teach us some pretty intense japanese! and that being teaching it *laughs* getting bombarded with japanese and not understanding it is.. well odd.
I’m learning japanese at the moment. i’m so very passionate about the language. i love languages, esp. english, latin, greek and japanese.
Hope your well and such.~
Very nice compilation.
Plus it taught me a new word that I already knew. Learning is fun. ^__^;
Real glad your website is up and running! Once I get back, I’ll be marathoning all your recent vids on YouTube (for it is blocked here at my workvessel).
I actually sometimes miss that fake voice. You should try it back on.
lol wow. So wait.. I’m confused.. You were visiting your parents? Who did you live with instead? and why not your folks?
Where in Western NY?
Ahhhhhhhh… Beautiful nostalgia… Those moments of retrospectiveness we do in order to find things we missed in the past… Or things we used to do… Yeah, even your nostalgia is intense Emily, keep it up!!!
I liked this one, not my personal favorite of yours, though.
Jebus, Emily — you’re such a nut! Not in a bad way though, as it’s pretty fun to watch. On another subject, how goes the tuition donation stuffs?
Emily ROCKS !
…hey, what happened to the whole tuition ordeal?
…put out an update (in english if possible)…
Hey Emily!
Thanks for the Takagi Masakatsu information! Just bought it on iTunes.
Please post more music tips
Dang, some harsh stuff you have to endure from these “haters” for example on encyclopedia dramatica o_O what makes people do that is beyond me.
What part of Japan you living in? Let’s go for coffee sometime
i love the background music. takagi masakatsu is awesome. never really took note of the music in that video until i rewatched it!
emily, don’t talk like an old lady you’re still young XD!
Like you said..Pretty Intense.
Pretty intense is right.
wow emily the name of the song is birdland not girls. censoring comments are we?
Oh, did I use birdland for that video? I thought that I used girls– my mistake!
I have never seen this video, it was very fun. thanks for sharing this vid and the music information.
put the vids where u want! but i think in the regular posts would be fun!
i like your new blog series thing on here. not sure how long ive be subscribed to your channel on youtube but i saw the intense Japanese lesson as have most people. but its cool to see clips like this that many people missed.
and you giving us the back story on it is pretty cool too.
your fake was i think was sorta your characteristic feature in your older videos. they are a bit different now with less of it but not bad.
and do you use stickam anymore? .com or .jp?
